  40.     Well, I went from Fortran to C with K&R as my only book, and I
  41. thought it sucked.  I would *never* recommend K&R as an intro programming
  42. book.

  44.     However, once I got the basics down, mostly by trial and error
  45. (more error than trial, I think), I found K&R an invaluable aid.  I
  46. recommend to anyone who is going to program in C to get K&R as a reference.
  47. I find AOL's blanket dismissal confusing, and downright ignorant.
